Prep for Tanning

Tanning is just as important as posing!  So many times you see streaky, patchy tans, areas of green or someone who isn't dark enough, all of which hinders your appearance.  Hopefully this will help give you a good basis to work from when starting out with your comp tanning.

Always start prepping the skin a week before your show. Many find it useful to use a non-perfumed shower gel for the week before your shower.

Depending on the tanning product you are using, any perfume/fragrance on the skin can often lead to the tan reacting and changing colour (green)! Not a great look when on stage! Additionally, don't use a moisturiser during this preparation time. The tan tends not to absorb as well.

By allowing your skin to become dry you'll find the tan will absorb easier and deeper into the skin, which means less re-application during the day, and the colour appears darker.
